Female intimate hygiene is a delicate and personal matter. Honestly most women do not feel comfortable talking about it.
Nevertheless every woman needs to have certain guidelines which she would follow when it comes to impeccable intimate hygiene.
Let’s not forget the motto: “Health comes first than everything else” therefor having perfect hygiene routines is just the first step to excellent health.
Do not interfere by changing the PH balance of your intimate parts
We are suffocated with ads about intimate hygiene products but the truth is we should not use them and just leave the skin to balance itself out.
If you use these products only wash the outside of your private parts with them and make sure they are suitable for you. Use your hands and water along with proper hygiene products with mild formula.
If you are too aggressive with these products you can destroy the natural balance of your private area.
Be careful with your pubic area
Ingrown hairs can drive any woman crazy. Let’s not forget the intimate area of any woman is the most sensitive part of their body.
You need to resist the temptation to scratch the red and swollen region to avoid any unwanted infections. If you use razor, change the razor frequently and use a new one at least once in two weeks.
If you want to wax the area or use an epilator clean the area properly and thoroughly first.
Do not let going to the gynecologist become a scary experience
Remember gynecologists are your “best friends” not your enemies.
Abnormal bleeding, vaginal discharge, unpleasant odors, itchiness and pain are the first signals for an infection like vaginitis or other similar disorders to the reproductive system. In these cases always consult your gynecologist just to be sure.
It will not be the most pleasant thing you do this week however a simple consult or having a test, if it is needed, is generally quick and painless.
Avoid fragrant tampons and wet wipes at any costs
Fragrant tampons and wet wipes can cause vaginal irritations or other allergic reactions. Stick to the normal means of hygiene which do not have aromas or specific ingredients which can only harm you.
Keep your hygiene to a high standard especially when you have regular intercourse
Urinating before or after sex helps you avoid infections which accrue due to the fact that the normal micro flora of your vagina comes in contact with your urethra.
It is wise to wash your hands before and after the act itself as to avoid any bacteria getting in contact with an unwanted area.
Pick your clothes wisely
If your wear slim fit clothes or a fabric that does not allow the skin to breathe you can create a warm and moist environment which is not good and you are at risk to inflame your private area.
It is highly recommended to wear loose and comfortable clothing made from natural materials.
